Since 2001, Andrea Roman Sorg has been responsible for a range of European events with demanding content for a variety of clients. He has been producer for the German television ARD in Geneva and Zurich and the head of Berlin based NZZ Podium Europa, the international event series arranged by the Swiss newspaper “Neue Zürcher Zeitung”. Among other things he is currently commissioned by the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”, a leading German-language newspaper, to set up an event series in Switzerland. He is the founder of Stadtluft, a Zurich based society for urban quality of life. He also initiated the nascent Europe United Society. He studied history, journalism and literature studies (lic. ès lettres) in Geneva, London and Freiburg, and speaks German, French, English and Norwegian. He is married with two daughters.
“Over the past decade, I have worked with Andrea Roman Sorg on several occasions as part of the NZZ Podium Europa, which he invented and, as a consequence, I have had an ongoing, very lively discussion with him. Above all, I was impressed by his singular talent for staging intellectual events: he has an acute sense for intriguing topics, for productive configurations of speakers and panelists, and for event forms that keep even large audiences both attentive and entertained. Politically, intellectually and even financially, I would sure bet on the formats designed by Andrea Roman Sorg.”
